Master Smith
SONA BLW PRÄZISIONSSCHMIEDE GMBH,
Werk Munich
My career started on September 1, 1985 in the Leichtmetallwerk Graf Blücher von Wahlstatt GmbH & Co. KG, Munich, Bavaria, with my apprenticeship to become a toolmaker.
From July 1988 to 1995, I worked as a toolmaker in forging die and tool construction and I completed my further education as an industrial master metal worker in parallel to my work between 1993 and 1995. On September 1, 1999 I was promoted to Foreman in the Forging Die Provision Dept. The focus of my role was mainly in the optimisation of forging dies and cold forging tools.
Since November 2000 I have worked as Master Craftsman in Forming Operations. My main tasks include: - Ensuring product quality during production, according to the product specifications - Continuous improvement in productivity - Regular staff training, as well as ongoing staff support - Overseeing daily business and processes in close cooperation with the inter-divisional departments, including Quality Assurance, Engineering, Production Control and Toolmaking.
The components car differentials, truck differentials, speed gears with coupled gearing, as well as synchronising rings, form the core product range, together with components for gears and axles. The precision forged parts are manufactured for hot forming and are thus the foundation for a successful end-product.
I look forward to new challenges every day due to the excellent cooperation within the company.
